Carbondale's Dandelion Day 2018
Dandelion Day - Saturday, May 12, 2018
This year marks Carbondale's 20th Annual Dandelion Day celebration! But what exactly is Dandelion Day? A celebration of weed(s)? An excuse to party? Here's the scoop on what's going on at this year's event!
Dandelion Day in Carbondale, Colorado is a celebration of spring that brings together community non-profit organizations, local artists, local farmers, food vendors, local brewers, musicians, and more, all in honor of Carbondale's Official Town Flower. Head to Sopris Park and shop for a last minute Mother's Day gift, buy sustain-ably minded clothing items, take the kids for face painting, attend an educational talk and learn about current environmental practices, get starter items for your own garden, find local medicinal products and much more.
Why Dandelions?
After a group of concerned citizens successfully lobbied to end the spraying of herbicide on parks and playgrounds, the Town of Carbondale elected to adopt the dandelion as its official Town Flower.
